Snowy February

At least in Finland. We had over 30 cm of snow coming in all of a sudden. A small challenge for cars and people. I on the other hand had much fun jumping over snowbanks. Although little precarious ice lurking under…

What is going on with Tsukifly? A lot. Active period. Several Etsy listings have got one or more updated pictures. I hope those will give you even better idea of the products and their details.

As I have been able to dedicate more time for sewing and updates I am pleased to see the improvement myself. I am grateful and it makes me happy to be able to do these things. Such a pleasure. Anyway. I must say I am really looking forward to snow / increasing natural light as the spring is slowly coming.

Patterns – Available – As instant download PDF file – by Tsukifly. And it is still hard for me to understand I have finally made it. Thank you for your patience! The first pattern available is for a cute 1-2 hour DIY project knee-length Pullip/Blythe/Pureneemo skirt.

Overly cute white fleece winter coat for Tiny / Yo-SD sized dolls. Just added on Etsy today. I have been wanting to try out some funky shapes for ages.

I came across a perfect piece of white fleece over the winter holidays and worked with my hands (On the road -travelling – you don’t have access to a sewing machine). Details SAMSUNG CSCare made with minty ribbons going around with white bead details. The same minty ribbon is also used in several bow ties and in front the coat has three rows of ribbons. You are required to tie them as bow ties to close the coat on the front side.

Best fit would be for Soom Tiny and similar sized dolls. For Mina [Aileendoll Camellia] the coat is a bit too big. Looking cute nevertheless ^^!

I have just listed it on Etsy at the same time with this blog post. Find the warm white fleece coat here.

Overview of the current (coming in near future) in progress – list: Lillycat turquoise lace dress set, Tiny lace dress and 8-9 inch SD/Lillycat/DD colors of snow – knitted hat & scarf set. In addition I am also working on three dress sets for SD/DD sizes with several pieces, one of those is Vintage Line.

So, as you see, many things going on and coming in. I am having a boost in sewing.

I also want to thank all those who have purchased my products and/or commissioned me. It is amazing support I have received and it is all worth it because of you!

PS. If you are considering to adopt a custom Pullip girl, Tsukifly custom Pullips Akiko and Papillon are available on Etsy. If purchased during this weekend (3-4 Feb) you have chance to receive the package just in time for Valentine’s Day (together with a suprise Valentine’s present)!

Massive updating all around

It is just like the headline says. Over the last week I have taken time to update Tsukifly Etsy. Mainly tried to take some photos and read through texts and shop policies. So everything is up to date. I remember saying it was one of my objectives to finish some of the in progress – dresses as well. See below for some of those projects:)

A package from my dear friend!! <3 ^^

A package from my dear friend!! ❤ ^^

I recently got a package containing a lot of wonderful stuffs for making customs, clothing and of course tea things to keep me going while I work ~ Riri (pureneemo girl) was there to invade box opening pictures. You can also maybe better see the Kimono style outfit set I made for her a while back. Poor girl had no clothes when she came! ^^;

Okay. So this Pureneemo girl didn’t previously have any name either. No clothes and no name… Sounds serious. But it is all fixed now! She appears to have adopted the name Riri. So I suppose I can say she is now officially part of the family ^^ I really should get around taking some family photos at some point ~

There wasn’t enough light anywhere to help me by the time I finished everything yesterday. But I shall update once again as the situation around here changes (light wise).

Those are the two new Pullip/Blythe/Pureneemo outfits available at Etsy. The Vintage Nightie can also fit for Soom Faery / Minigems. Junia here with it. Although on her its length is a bit over knees and not full-length as with Pureneemo/Blythe/Pullip bodies 🙂

Then the outfit set I first made for Akiko’s fullset but later ended up changing Akiko’s style into more Asian direction. Therefore I am now offering the original fullset outfit for sale separately. With this I have experimented few styles and different fabrics and materials. I must say I am

candygirl outfit.jpg

quite pleased what comes to the outcome. Read more comprehensive description and find more pics from the Candy Girl Etsy listing.

One of the long term in progress dresses was a vintage MSD dress set. The upper part was originally part of another set but as the other parts were sold, this inspired me to use the recycled lovely embroidered piece of fabric I had around in my boxes. Topped with tulle, delicate vintage lace and little star details around the upper tulle skirt this is a truly unique one of a kind set surely not found elsewhere. Take a further look here: Tsukifly Vintage Line: Vintage stars MSD dress and also for some more pictures ~

There are quite a lot on the table so another update coming soon ^-^!

2018 January is here ~!

Hello hello ~!

The new year has started rolling and agenda is full of new ideas to try out. Including colors, lots of lace, ribbons and bow ties and of course some black and white to balance out.

Tsukifly New year’s promises: 1) In 2018 I will focus on making more complete outfit sets in different sizes. 2) I shall make at least one new listing every month on Etsy.

For January that 1 new listing target has been reached as Dark Seamstress dress set in SD/DD size was added on Etsy yesterday. I have been finishing these in progress SD/DD dresses as my priority for now. Last month the time keeper and now the dark seamstress. I am pleased they both are now completed.

Dark Seamstress was inspired by various little sewing related details I have sewn into the dress set. Most of them around the layered upper skirt and on the arm band. The set has 7 parts and it can be warn by various SD / DD sized dolls. Hisa (Volks Lorina) has been acting diligently as my model ~

I have been meaning to try out making an alpaca wig for Junia (Soom Juchy). She has been wearing her default for far too long. She would also need some new clothes as he dress she is now is far too dark for her. I am rather pleased what comes to wig. Especially as this is my first try in making one. Such a lovely alpaca hair in just right color ~! It came out a lot fluffier than I perhaps intended but no harm done. Now I certainly have some extra for few little braids. The wig size of Soom faery tends to be tricky too, so this way you are sure to get a wig that fits ^-^

I have been making more diamond deer headbands. First batch with slightly rosy color diamonds is currently on Etsy. Later will have another batch with slightly violet color diamonds, so keep an eye on the updates. Freya (Lillycat Ellana) is such a pretty lady with her new Leekeworld wig. I just love those blue stripes ~

What is coming next? I will complete new dresses in Yo-Sd size (two in progress). Additionally I am working on a Pullip dress set and few commissions so we shall see what is the schedule of new things for Etsy.

Thank you for your support!

December recap

Or can I call this a recap while this December is only half way through?

It has been a productive month. There are changes in my personal life so there has been some extra time to use for sewing projects. So happy about that fact. I also feel that while it has been somewhat quiet for quite a while when I speak about dolly plans I have also lots going on there. Plans, story updates, style updates. Dolly hobby is periodic at present.

Not too many flattering pictures of Unoa Elder girls in Google picture search. Apparently enough to hook me though. Not that Google was ever the sole place to look for dolly pictures. I have had this little plan of Ange for quite a while now. And my wishes had been heard! Now I have one on layaway. Her name will be Yuiko (thoughtful child) and she is an apprentice witch. Initial plan is to make her something colorful yet dark while her wig will be pastel cute. However, it would not be the first time when a doll turns into something completely different once she arrives so I cannot say for sure. Let’s wait and see. She is scheduled to come around in Spring ~

Then Tsukifly updates.

Starting with two Vintage cardigans in SD and DD sizes, made out of lovely vintage knitted fabric with vintage lace details. I am pleased with the outcome and they are a great addition with any Tsukifly dress as well.

Tsukifly Vintage White Cardigands

Second in line is a one-piece vintage time keeper dress for SD.  I have had “raw” sketch of this dress on a mannequin for ages. It really has taken way too long to complete but I amSAMSUNG CSC pleased how it turned out. A combo of embroidered off-white lace, light blue taffeta, brown polka dot fabric and vintage laces and bow ties. A clock necklace will be included with the dress.

Last but not least on the list are probably my personal favorites of the month. Diamond deer flower headbands. This patch on Etsy includes 2 tiny/slim mini sized, 2 MSD/Lillycat sized and 1 bigger Pullip / SD / Blythe sized headdresses. They are so cute and delicate. I just need more paper flowers for any future plans, these ate my last ones on storage.

*Update* Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

I felt the candy set didn’t quite match with Akiko so I completed a better suited outfit set to go with her. With fully and lively Japanese themed dress and accessories she would be an an unique addition to any Pullip family. Find the updated listing here.

So to recap, a lot of new updates, additions and great fun in making all of these. Thank you everyone for your continuing support!

I must also make a small note on one of my lovely buyers who was kind enough to send me a picture of her doll wearing a Tsukifly coat bought through Etsy shop. The styling in the picture was wintery and receiving it really made my day. Thank you!

I believe that is almost everything for now. Next wee I will travel towards North for Christmas and I have pretty strong feeling no new blog entries will be made for this year. Please do keep an eye on Instagram as I am more likely to update few Christmas theme pictures around there ~

November greetings

I wonder how I have managed to forget how fun it is to make photoshoot set-ups, take photos of my dear dolls and see how the pictures turn out (especially nice if the photos turn out nicely, although not always the case ^^;)

In any case I think I have rediscovered the joy of that aspect of the doll hobby. The only things I am lacking is generally the time and as the winter is knocking on the door, the natural light. So I need to adjust to the yellow and warm light emitted by the the various lamps scattered around my little personal nest.

During the weekend I took a “proper” photoshoot (which I haven’t done for a very long time) and the reason was to get some pictures of the Vintage Bunny set, now available on Etsy. However, few pictures really surprised me, including the fact that Tori fits in well with those vintage pieces (grandma’s old lamp, tiny picture frame and an old decorative pillow). Nothing particularly specially in the pictures but I just felt so happy. So much so I just want to mention it here as well.

One of the photoshoot pictures (few more on Flickr). The set includes four pieces (vintage corset, bloomers, bunny headdress and black lace stockings) with an option to include that cute fluffy Bukowski bear (an angel bear!) with the set.

I have also made a mess of my table yet again. I have finished a new custom Pullip. She got orange eyes with star pupils and clear glass domes. Super cute with Leekeworld carrot wig and mocha skin color. Pretty pleased with the face-up too. Only thing left is to finish her dress, working on it now although somehow slow progress. Or I just feel so as I do many things at the same time (multitasking o_o)? (read more below).

There is also this Tsukifly Autumn knitted scarf. I completed it over the last weekend, just got around to take the pictures. The model is my Aya (Luts Soo Dark Elf) and I just love how she looks in these winter garments. She is also wearing a Tsukifly cat hat. Ready for a winter outing? Can I make the snow fall from the sky for this picture?

Outline of the month:

  • Vintage Bunny MSD set – ok
  • Knitted scarf – ok
  • Pullip custom full set Akiko – mocha skin – ok

So I am pretty happy of the outcome.  And I won’t even start on those sd dresses I am working on…

Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

Continuing from above. She is now completed, finally. Named as Akiko, autumn’s child to reflect the time but also her colors. Cute and delicious combination goes well with her mocha skin although I must say I am not too happy with the light in the listing pictures. If the weather is already gloomy outside, the available light is even less than the usual. I need to figure out some solution for that.

Nevertheless, she is precious little girl up for adoption. Her OOAK dress consists of three pieces, headpiece (pink bow ties on top of each others), upper part and a frosted skirt part. I kinda feel the dress could be edible, candy colors – pink & white. She will come with a glass jar, where there are small red stones (look like candies?). These stones have holes in the middle so they are also suitable for grafting should you wish to use them.

I hope you like the new Etsy updates and thank you for the support for Tsukifly!

Spectrum of colors

Lovely autumn colors are finally here! I have wishes to go and collect some nice leaves for craft things during the coming weekend. For those of you who have checked Instagram you may have seen few captions from Finnish forest from the previous weekend. I was hunting mushrooms for a pie which I must say turned out so good (my first time!) that there was hardly a piece left on the next morning.

Junia, my little forest sprite, the guardian of a hidden forest fall, finally got

SAMSUNG CSCa new dress for herself. This was rather to test a new pattern than to have a specific idea but I like the outcome. Since the first dress was off-white lace dress I wanted something darker with few details. The lovely fabric has been previously brought from China by my dear friend. There are still few pieces left to make lovely little things. =^^=

Overall I like the mini gem/faery size from Soom. Delicate, tiny and beautiful. Otherwise quite a tricky one to find clothing / wigs / eyes for though!

Moreover, I am happy to start off a commission work during the weekend. This relates to an animation I am myself a fan of so I suppose it will spark my inspiration for the whole process. Completing this commission will be my priority for the next few weeks.

Halloween is coming too. It is one of my favorite seasonal celebrations but despite this fact I have been unable to complete anything suitable to the theme during these last two years. This year, provided I have enough time I plan to complete a set for Pullips / Pureneemos just in time for Halloween. Looking forward to it even myself!

So as the seasons turn towards the coming winter I notice my time to be somewhat limited. I must confess I haven’t been able to keep up with one post per week so my next statement and objective is to post at least one post per month. Therefore there may be more or there might not be more but at least this one per month. I have been satisfied with the regular monthly schedule so sticking with it as a basis seems like a good idea.

Lune has found her style, more or less, and seems to hang out around my many books.

Tsukifly Dresstime

A new week has started. September is almost here. It feels weird to consider that practically it is autumn already. I don’t think Finland really saw so much of the summer. If you do not count those few exceptions. It has been constant rain / sun combo around Helsinki at least. My cornflowers have gone wild.

Last week we had a fun meet-up at downtown Helsinki with amazing people and their dolls, bjds and pureneemos. My combo of few of my favourite pictures. Once again thank you everybody: Dark, Fyrd8th, Safir, Sarqq and Tiinyan.

Over the weekend I had a massive cleaning operation. I have long felt that my “hobby closet” as I call it has become a one big mess. One from which you don’t find anything anymore. I love all kinds of tins and cute boxes so there are plenty of those with which I try to keep the order. However, stuff keep coming in and obviously more comes in than I have time to use. So I took everything out, sorted them again, threw something away. Well, you know how it goes. And my table was an even bigger mess for two whole days. Now I am almost satisfied, for the time being.

SAMSUNG CSCWhile on summer holiday I had a pleasure to bring this little fellow back home with me for a visit. Sheng is Neo Angelregion’s Gato. A mischievous little thing, I mean, a cat, whose dream is to conquer the world (read: total world domination, no less). You got to dream big, right? And since when did the size have any role in the matter?

I was going over the sale things and this great little bed seemed to please Sheng quite a bit. He is not going to have it tho. But for this once he did have a test run. Magnificent cats do not have fleas either. So whoever will be the new owner of this 25cm cosy bed is sure to have a clean bed to sleep in.

While doing this massive cleaning operation I also completed two of those -in progress- dresses I came across. First is the dress for Dollfie Dream (DD). It is made to fit DDS, so sister body although will fit the regular dd body as well. Well fitted this time although pattern needs some adjustments which I came across while making the dress. Overall I am very happy with the completed dress though. It has been listed on Etsy.

Another one was a light dreamy colored Yo-SD/tiny size dress. I suppose you could call it a babydoll nightie. It is quite puffy from the waist area because of those three layers of tulle and lace. Kinda reminds me of those historical gowns. The upper part of the nightie is vintage lace and the dress is mostly hand-sewn with pink ribbon details. In addition I wanted two lace bowties on each side of the dress. Details ~  Also found from Etsy now.

Those two dresses are the last additions for this month. We shall see what the next month will bring into the shop~
