Snowy February

At least in Finland. We had over 30 cm of snow coming in all of a sudden. A small challenge for cars and people. I on the other hand had much fun jumping over snowbanks. Although little precarious ice lurking under…

TSUKIFLY

What is going on with Tsukifly? A lot. Active period. Several Etsy listings have got one or more updated pictures. I hope those will give you even better idea of the products and their details.

As I have been able to dedicate more time for sewing and updates I am pleased to see the improvement myself. I am grateful and it makes me happy to be able to do these things. Such a pleasure. Anyway. I must say I am really looking forward to snow / increasing natural light as the spring is slowly coming.

Patterns – Available – As instant download PDF file – by Tsukifly. And it is still hard for me to understand I have finally made it. Thank you for your patience! The first pattern available is for a cute 1-2 hour DIY project knee-length Pullip/Blythe/Pureneemo skirt.

SAMSUNG CSC

Overly cute white fleece winter coat for Tiny / Yo-SD sized dolls. Just added on Etsy today. I have been wanting to try out some funky shapes for ages.

I came across a perfect piece of white fleece over the winter holidays and worked with my hands (On the road -travelling – you don’t have access to a sewing machine). Details SAMSUNG CSCare made with minty ribbons going around with white bead details. The same minty ribbon is also used in several bow ties and in front the coat has three rows of ribbons. You are required to tie them as bow ties to close the coat on the front side.

Best fit would be for Soom Tiny and similar sized dolls. For Mina [Aileendoll Camellia] the coat is a bit too big. Looking cute nevertheless ^^!

I have just listed it on Etsy at the same time with this blog post. Find the warm white fleece coat here.

Overview of the current (coming in near future) in progress – list: Lillycat turquoise lace dress set, Tiny lace dress and 8-9 inch SD/Lillycat/DD colors of snow – knitted hat & scarf set. In addition I am also working on three dress sets for SD/DD sizes with several pieces, one of those is Vintage Line.

So, as you see, many things going on and coming in. I am having a boost in sewing.

I also want to thank all those who have purchased my products and/or commissioned me. It is amazing support I have received and it is all worth it because of you!

PS. If you are considering to adopt a custom Pullip girl, Tsukifly custom Pullips Akiko and Papillon are available on Etsy. If purchased during this weekend (3-4 Feb) you have chance to receive the package just in time for Valentine’s Day (together with a suprise Valentine’s present)!

March: Sweet Lolita & Cutiness

Updates now and other plans for the coming month.

I found one of my lace stashes and got inspired to use some of those for the new creations. As I also have a strong intention to use the fabrics from my box, those that I have accumulated over the years, the new pieces are from now on are likely to be both colorful as well as combinations of many great fabrics.

Sweet Lolita Mix & Match skirts – Lillycat & MSD sizes

Are you ready for some light blue sweet lolita skirts? These perfect Tsukifly Mix & Match pieces are one of a kind (OOAK) creations with slightly different details, available in Lillycat and MSD size.

Lillycat Sweet Lolita skirt has a high waist part and three rows of ribbons on the back side. It can be worn on top or under a shirt/corset. Small bow ties are positioned randomly  on the skirt and hem decorated with two different laces. Made out of sturdy light blue taffeta the skirt maintains its shape and can be worn with or without a separate tulle skirt.

MSD sized sweet lolita skirt has a polka dot brown/mint fabric for the waist and sturdy light blue taffeta for the skirt part. This skirt fastens with snap fasteners at the back and can be worn similarly on or under a shirt/top. Hem is lined with minty lace and ribbon bow ties are similarly randomly sewn over the skirt part.

Tulle & Lace skirts – Various sizes

Because girls can never have enough skirts and because those skirts that can be used with many different outfits are great multipurpose pieces I decided to turn some of the tulle and lace fabrics into skirts as I found some excess tulle from the box. More sturdy and some soft. Different colors. Enough lace for a skirt is more of a rarity, thus I anticipate that there will not be too many of those to come.

There will be a soft beige tulle skirt, a mint lace skirt and a pink sturdy tulle skirt available through Etsy soon. Working on the listings as we speak. All those may be used as a petticoat or on their own. All have an elastic waist band and therefore they fit for various sized dolls. Each of the skirts also comes with a small bow tie detail.

So things coming up – keep checking Etsy, blog and Instagram ~

Etsy’s January and dolly plans

Second update for the month. I feel like clapping my hands a bit. For both the joy of finishing these items as well as for the fact of having a second update for the month.

This is filled with photos of the new updates for Tsukifly’s Etsy shop. Some of the items were suppose to be there already for the previous month but due to health issues I was unable to finish any of the plans. Better late than never, right? So while I am home for few days I felt it was sufficient time to finish the projects.

My dear friend Irene greatly contributed to my focusing on Blythe size for the time being. It seems. Thank you so much dear once again~ ! So it did have a desired effect, right? Besides the Blythe socks ISAMSUNG CSC SAMSUNG CSCalready mentioned earlier I was able to finish the dress set properly with a tiny off-white tulle skirt to go with it. Easy to put on a doll with my new faves: hook & eye closure at the back. Ribbon details on both sides of the waist area. Now found on Etsy.

Personally it seems I am a fan of tulle skirts for my girls. Off-white is quite nice on Mella even if she has nothing else on her. That is the off-white tulle skirt under the red dress set. Appears SAMSUNG CSCto look like a normal white in the picture though. Natural light is rather minimal in Finland for this winter time. I might be inclined to offer some tulle skirts separately for Blythe/Pullip size in the future.

Looking something like this. But they shall come later when I get there. If someone would like one in a specific size please inquire. In general these have 4 layers of soft tulle. As there are some designs from before I may consider a first pre-order item out of these. I have a feeling they would answer the demand better that way. And I am kinda out of the space to keep all the pre-made items, haha.

Other Etsy highlights for the month are a Dust of Dolls polka dot dress set with a similar off-white tulle skirt to go with the white/colorful polka dot one-piece dress. A snap fastener at the back and flower themed lace as a detail. Bubbla (my little model did give me some hard time – refusing to stand as my model u_u). Last pair of Tsukifly patterned stockings for Etsy. Second one in MSD size, the other longer stocking pair travelled within Europe already. These are short socks with ribbon details. And I like how the socks look with Lunetta’s shoes. I feel kinda tempted to keep them for her too…

Speaking of keeping the things I sew… I have a feeling I should sew things to keep for my girls as well. Etsy has got the majority of the things I have made during Autumn and now so my girls haven’t got any of the things they might need. Except for perhaps the other ofSAMSUNG CSC the two finished kimono projects as I resolved to keep the other for Freya for the time being (she has no other full outfit at the moment either…) To add under the kimono I wanted to finish a lace top for her, similar to those in Etsy.
The top is in off-white to match with her cute panties I bought from Taipei’s doll fair already two years ago. At the time I didn’t have a clue for who they would be for. Now I am very pleased with the combo. A new wig as well. Lovely color -Usagihime’s if I don’t remember entire wrongly.

Also Lunetta got a new cute wig of which I will not add a picture just yet. She is my next target, still without a proper “own” outfit. I haven’t got a clue what kind of style I would like for her except for the shoes perhaps. A dress, short and tulle/lace details are in my mind. Have to sketch a bit. Even the color I would like for her is a mystery still.

I will get to consider something for her within the limits of my already too full fabric box. I need to use more of the ones I have instead of losing myself in fabric stores all over again…

Darker fabrics appear to make quite a nice contrast with Lunetta’s fair white skin. White or pink is no no, too light and does not quite suit her character either. I have a feeling this will require some time.
