November greetings

I wonder how I have managed to forget how fun it is to make photoshoot set-ups, take photos of my dear dolls and see how the pictures turn out (especially nice if the photos turn out nicely, although not always the case ^^;)

In any case I think I have rediscovered the joy of that aspect of the doll hobby. The only things I am lacking is generally the time and as the winter is knocking on the door, the natural light. So I need to adjust to the yellow and warm light emitted by the the various lamps scattered around my little personal nest.

During the weekend I took a “proper” photoshoot (which I haven’t done for a very long time) and the reason was to get some pictures of the Vintage Bunny set, now available on Etsy. However, few pictures really surprised me, including the fact that Tori fits in well with those vintage pieces (grandma’s old lamp, tiny picture frame and an old decorative pillow). Nothing particularly specially in the pictures but I just felt so happy. So much so I just want to mention it here as well.

One of the photoshoot pictures (few more on Flickr). The set includes four pieces (vintage corset, bloomers, bunny headdress and black lace stockings) with an option to include that cute fluffy Bukowski bear (an angel bear!) with the set.

I have also made a mess of my table yet again. I have finished a new custom Pullip. She got orange eyes with star pupils and clear glass domes. Super cute with Leekeworld carrot wig and mocha skin color. Pretty pleased with the face-up too. Only thing left is to finish her dress, working on it now although somehow slow progress. Or I just feel so as I do many things at the same time (multitasking o_o)? (read more below).

There is also this Tsukifly Autumn knitted scarf. I completed it over the last weekend, just got around to take the pictures. The model is my Aya (Luts Soo Dark Elf) and I just love how she looks in these winter garments. She is also wearing a Tsukifly cat hat. Ready for a winter outing? Can I make the snow fall from the sky for this picture?

Outline of the month:

  • Vintage Bunny MSD set – ok
  • Knitted scarf – ok
  • Pullip custom full set Akiko – mocha skin – ok

So I am pretty happy of the outcome.  And I won’t even start on those sd dresses I am working on…

Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

Continuing from above. She is now completed, finally. Named as Akiko, autumn’s child to reflect the time but also her colors. Cute and delicious combination goes well with her mocha skin although I must say I am not too happy with the light in the listing pictures. If the weather is already gloomy outside, the available light is even less than the usual. I need to figure out some solution for that.

Nevertheless, she is precious little girl up for adoption. Her OOAK dress consists of three pieces, headpiece (pink bow ties on top of each others), upper part and a frosted skirt part. I kinda feel the dress could be edible, candy colors – pink & white. She will come with a glass jar, where there are small red stones (look like candies?). These stones have holes in the middle so they are also suitable for grafting should you wish to use them.

I hope you like the new Etsy updates and thank you for the support for Tsukifly!

September update

Since my last update there has been lots of fun and new ideas and creations.

On the working table this month we have (to start with): Leeke art-body commission (2/3 completed), a sleeveless MSD Polkadot dress and lace tops in various sizes (SD/MSD etc.).

Those of you who have been out with their sharp eyes have seen quite a few new listings pop-up in Tsukifly Etsy shop. The dress I described previously was completed for Supergem / SD16 rather than in more common SD/SD13. A new custom Pullip, Huurre is now available in Etsy as well. I hope you like her ~

Gem within new creations is the short Kimono robe for Lillycat Cerisedolls. Additionally I have found that this also fits for MSDs, Leeke Art-body etc. albeit may not sit smoothly. il_fullxfull.1035139518_sd76However, best fit is always for the one it was made for. This is knee-length kimono robe with a black wide satin ribbon to tie as a functional obi around the waist. It is without lining, neat seams.  There is also a snap-fastener to keep the kimono fastened without the obi, but it brings the detail for the whole.

Personally I am pleased with the Japanese kimono fabric and how well it turned out as a whole. Later I have plans for two long kimonos with lining. However, so far this is the only dark colored kimono there will be for now. Use the opportunity if black is what you are looking for.

I also completed one of my long-time projects, this flower parasol, which now makes its first appearance with the kimono robe. It is made of different sized foam and paper flowers, carefully attached on top of and around a metal frame of my own design. Lace is used for the handle to make it an easy fit for different doll’s hands and also functions as a nice detail.

Co29374385481_7e7dfbb7d0_zming up: A black satin corset top for Lillycat Cerisedolls. I must say that this is one of my personal favorites from Tsukifly products so far. A multi-use piece to make a festive whole. Black patterned satin fabric, black shoulder strap details and hook & eye closure with a cute light brown polkadot lining in the inside (light in color to avoid any staining).

The brass/silver dragonfly choker will also be available later. It is an accessory piece completed already a while ago but only now has emerged from the depths of the closet. Makes a lovely addition for this as well.

As can be seen new creations vary quite a lot. All the way from smaller mix & match pieces to full outfit sets. Quite many of the newest pieces are in Lillycat size, the focus of August. Now for this month the focus will be on regular MSD and slim MSD size. Then possibly going for even smaller with a dedicated month for Yo-SD/Tiny size. So you have some indication. On the other hand I will not say all the creations are confined in those particular monthly sizes. Thus, occasional pieces in other sizes are sure to appear. We will wait and see.

Additionally I have made some small changes and improvements to the appearances of my girls. Lunetta got a lovely blushing for her upper body (all thanks to Idaheika!) to bring in some color on her. Later I completed a manicure for her small fingers. Freya got new eyelashes with more volume and black color andsome more point in her face-up. Now I am looking for a mohair wig for Lunetta but so far the tiny size of her head has proven somewhat a challenge…

Monthly update: July

Time for another summer month full of news. I feel quite productive and inspired during summer so have to take advantage of that fact.

Aya (CP Soo Dark Elf) will celebrate her 10-year anniversary next year.

Pullip plans

With completion of the first Tsukifly Custom Pullip Sarinna I got a boost to complete certain other sketches I had previously left in the drawers of my writing desk… Then came the second custom in lovely Mocha Skin: Éclair. The third will be another fair skinned little beauty: Huurre. My estimation to complete her is by the end of this month.

Another Pullip related news is a dress set without a doll. One piece long dress with a cute and unique bunny headdress. I can confirm that these dress sets will be a rarity within Etsy as I have decided to focus on full custom sets. For now. However, occasional exceptions may be made and then they are sure to appear around Etsy.

A dress set for Leeke Art-body

SAMSUNG CSC

I have had this dress on my table for a month now. Finally it is completed. A custom set for Leeke Art-body. Also a present for this girl as she has been my model without objections.

There is also a minty cotton lace dress made for this size. Once I have time to finish it entirely it will be available through Etsy. More news on that will follow later.

More MNF / Unoa sized clothing

I have got inquiries after this size for a while. Well, with a modelil_570xN.1045917465_a93u (Lunetta) and a bit of inspiration it has been fairly easy to complete few more demanding clothing sets for summer. First was Alice within Alice dress set, already mentioned in my previous post. Secondly, may I present a full lace ballerina dress. It consists of two separate pieces, a ballerina corset top and a lace skirt. Fitted for Unoa / MNF / slim MSD – small bust. It is a delicate and delightful set to make any girl a beautiful ballerina. Both pieces may also be used separately so it is a great mix & match set as well. The main color of the dress is off-white. The corset has been made of several layers while the skirt is topped with few layers of tulle under the lace layer. Both pieces are without a finished lining but neatly put together.

With a thing for laces and ribbons there may be more of these ballerina style dresses coming in future. In Lillycat Cerisedolls size for example. A hint of future plans. Find this white lace dream Ballerina set in Etsy.

I am currently finishing a new MNF / Unoa dress for Etsy. Still considering certain SAMSUNG CSCadditional pieces I may include with it. Or then it may be only the dress. A glimpse of minty/green/gold to give you an idea what to expect. This babydoll -style dress with its flower detail will be available in Etsy later this month.

Coming soon – Etsy

Before I will update new items in Etsy most of them will be mentioned in this blog prior to their listing. Thus I would advise to keep an eye on the blog to have an idea what is to be expected ~

In addition to the babydoll dress and the new custom Pullip I can already say that few other items will be available as well. Most of them are from stock I have completed previously but haven’t had the possibility to add in Etsy.

At least a mix & match over-knee skirt made of the same lovely patterned fabric which has been used for the upper part of the babydoll dress, an tiny shirt for Dust of Dolls and doll jewelry pieces. Keep an eye on updates and Etsy ~ !

My warm thank you for all the support you have given me! Especially with regard to the launch of the Tsukifly Etsy shop!~

Monthly Update: March

First weekend of yet another month is before us. A great opportunity to share some of what has been done around here.

It has been rather dark and I haven’t had many chances to take proper pictures of some of the pieces I have completed. This weekend I feel I had a bit more luck with that. Not exactly a sunny day, but still bright enough to get my camera in focus.

Tsukifly lacy layers skirt (Lillycat/Slim SD)

Let’s start with a skirt design. Many layers of black lace with a pattern fabric waist piece. This waist piece may be hidden under a shirt etc. or it can be used to create a great detail for the outfit along with its buckle. In this display picture the skirt is used with a longer underskirt and to my eyes is a great addition to the outfit.

NB: the other side of the skirt has been made longer than the other on purpose to create a detail.

In my previous post two of the Lillycat Cerisedolls sized corset designs were completed. Following the tests with the created pattern, two additional corsets have been completed since then. A short greenish one and white with light-blue details. Both of these new ones have a corset lacing/braiding on both sides to add in details.

All of these three pieces will be added and available in Etsy in due course.

I have been experimenting with a cape design, but that is so far from being completed that I shall leave it to some other occasion.

Additionally a “forever project” has finally been continued. Having Freya and Sheri around seem to give me strange inspiration to proceed with writing their story. This time in a proper manner. So far it has consisted of a pile of short stories without any order, but over the time the order has formed. Only that I have shamefully decided to disregard this fact – I haven’t done anything to place the stories I have written so far into their proper order. Now I have started with this, so much so, that the first Chapter of this sequence  has been completed. A good basis to continue from.

Freya [Lillycat Cerisedolls Ellana] and Sheri [Soom Sweet Witch], the two main characters of the story. Here they might seem friends but “the truth” may well be completely different…

February update

Look! I am keeping to my set schedule with these updates.

So, straight to the updates and news.

Tsukifly Etsy Shop : Some of the older designs have been added to Etsy. So far those include Tsukifly Bunny hats (in various sizes) as well as few flower bands and two short skirts for SD size. A bit of variation already, but I should say more is to come.

New sizes : I have few visiting models. Firstly A Dust of Dolls Spün, Bubbla and secondly, Konomi, a Leekeworld Kiko with a curious DollLeeke Art Volume Body. So perhaps these visiting models get me to try out something in different sizes a bit. Thirdly a lovely Lillycat Cerisedolls Ellana, Freya arrived to fill in the gap for this curious size. Something in this size has already been tested by now so read further to discover what exactly.

New designs : Previous post was about winds of relocation and I have a feeling this one is about winds of new ideas or something such. It was probably not very innovative to go for a corset design as my first try out in Lillycat Cerisedolls size. I have seen corsets around quite a lot. But, my thing is probably the usage of certain style/patterned fabrics.

Freya modelling the pink corset and a shawl type design

Additionally I decided to make the first two corsets without inside lining in order to make the pieces in less time and available with lower price (less working hours = lower price in this case). My aim being that these corsets are still durable and look cute even without inside lining and are (at least in my opinion!) great for any Lillycat girl to wear.

More corset designs are likely to come, the two first ones were to test the pattern and a more thick fabric, whereas the following try out will be from a different kind of fabric so we shall see if this requires some alternative measures.

These two are likely to be available through Etsy once I have time to complete their listing (pictures and description).

Overall I must say I am satisfied to the pattern and its functionality and fitting. Perhaps next to come are some skirt designs, a dress and bloomers in this size. Still a lot of work to be done with those though!

You may also see a glimpse of a shawl type design (how to name it?) on Freya (in light green color) but the pattern needs quite a lot of adjusting. I think it looks cute like this as well so perhaps more about it later.

Bubbla modelling a new bright outfit set for Dust of Dolls.

I have also completed a kind of outfit set in Dust of Dolls size, it comes with a short shirt with lace lining and bloomers made out of some patterned fabric. I couldn’t resist the big ribbon… This first try is rather a bright combination, I try to make the second so that it will look less striking.

It seems I have taken a different approach into the making process of the Tsukifly clothing pieces. The use of patterns has increased whereas before I worked largely without any patterns. But since some designs are such that they are made in different colors multiple times over, the use of patterns make it a lot easier. Although I must say, to keep the design philosophy of Tsukifly, that each piece will still be OOAK (one of a kind), either in size or in fabrics/other details. Thus 100% similar design will not be made again.

All in all I am happy that I have found the time to complete these new pieces and I hope to adjust them further to make them fit even better. More updates will follow later.

If any of the new designs are specifically to your liking or you wish to inquire whether something similar could be made in different color etc. you are welcome to contact me and we may discuss the possibilities.
