October was for Lillycat size

The header tells it pretty well. During October my sewing table was mainly filled with fabric pieces aiming to complete dresses in Lillycat size. Still there are few unfinished but I am slowly getting there.

Do you know it when you have an amazing plan and it does not quite work out the way you had visioned? That has happened few times now. A pouch thing I was trying out… Did not quite work out. I know why, isn’t that why you make prototypes, try out, fail, adjust and eventually succeed? YES. Trial and Error.

Eden lace was a success. I have been storing that minty lace for ages now. There was also no logic in the way I had stored it. The lace was in one place, those “sleeves” I had already cut some time ago, where in another place. I was almost cutting another pair but managed to find them just in time. I am happy how the dress turned out. The color combo is calming with a hint of mint.

Take a further look at Eden Lace. The sleeves and the upper part of the skirt is from the lace with a hint of chocolate (brown color). White corset style upper part, details with delicate vintage lace, beads and bow tie. Around the waist I have used heavier lace in Turquoise color. The skirt has underskirt from a one coloured mint fabric. Hook and eye closure on the back side keeps the dress on its place. Sleeves are from the lace with elastic lace on top to keep the sleeves at the height you prefer.

Around the same time as the Eden Lace I had a moment I wanted to make some necklaces. So “Bottled” necklaces where made. Nothing too unique it seems but I enjoyed making them and hope you find them nice additions for any outfit. Lots of different colors and fillings available here. My favorite one is the round one with clear/white diamonds and dragonfly detail. That was to be expected, no?

Halloween was not successful this year in the sense that I was not able to complete the special dress plan I had. It seems to come as a surprise to me. Every time. I have planned to finish a Halloween special dress for years but haven’t so far managed in time. I need to make a mental note that the Halloween is (for me) a month earlier. So at the end of September I should have planned – preferably also completed the Special dress with Halloween theme. With you as my witnesses I shall make the promise to try this in 2019. I have the broom planned already! And it will most likely be in MNF/Unoa size.

As we are already in November I want to mention the latest Etsy addition as well. After having a pink period it seemed appropriate to reflect it somehow in my creations. So, Softest touch was created. First Tsukifly Art line dress, where higher quality evening gown fabrics were used.

Softest touch has a corset style upper part is from a rosy silk fabric, which catches the light in delightful way. I used a piece of delicate pink lace and antique rose ribbon to create bowtie details in front and on the sides of the dress. The skirt has amazing glittery tulle on top, pink satin one colored fabric as a second layer. Hook and eye closure on the back side. The dress will come with the black elastic lace highlight choker which has a crown detail.

There are tons of things on my table that need to be completed. If there is something you would like to wish for, some specific size/style etc. I am always happy to hear. While I cannot promise I can complete your wishes anytime soon, I am sure to keep them in my mind for future. So keep me posted ^-^

And I want to thank you for your continuing support. I love all those reviews and pictures you have written and sent me. Thank you! *Hugs*

Is it still September?

Barely. I am awfully aware that this post has taken me longer than I had planned. But then, it just means I have much more to catch up. I should really write more so I would not have such a long monthly updates. Which way you prefer?

I have neglected my own dollies for quite a while. Every new outfit piece seems to be not for them but something I had in mind for Etsy. I should fix my priorities. But! To say at least, everyone finally got their stands, everyone has a body so sharing has ended and I have been proceeding with those blushings as well. I suppose Tori, my first MSD girl (DM Cherry Dream Torrie) would need blushing and my darling Aya (CP Soo Dark Elf) as well but I am kinda thorn what to do with their yellowness, but then, both of them have been with me 10 years more or less. That is how it goes. So both of my older girls are up for some work next. Although I will not say anything of the timeline.

I have still completed some projects. Riri (Pureneemo Aika) got a prototype of a shirt. I am working on the pattern my seamstress friend helped me to make. (Thank you again for your time!) Now I need to test some different fabrics. For now I am just happy Riri has something to wear. The skirt was made using Tsukifly pattern with some further additions like the hem decorations and layer of tulle. Additionally Yuiko got a bra top made out of elastic lace. Pretty, and can be used under clothes as well. Maybe I should consider making these on Etsy as well? This size is suitable for Unoa/Minifee sized dolls.

Then, last time I mentioned I was working on a new custom. So a new Tsukifly Pullip Custom Caramella is currently on Etsy.

SAMSUNG CSC

I am happy with her face-up and especially love the eyelids (you can see a delicate light violet lace there). Her outfit also turned out nicely. The theme being candyish white & pink. The outfit set consists of the dress, checkered socks and light rose tulle skirt. She will come with the Bukowski teddy bear (it has tiny wings and little pink bowtie). Her name ‘Caramella’ translates as candy in Italian.

Would you like to adopt this cute girl? Take a look at Tsukifly Etsy.

Overall I have focused on commissions more than new items what comes to this month. Thank you everyone who commissioned me! I hope you like your items. I had extra fun completing Dust of Dolls and Blythe sized commissions.

Then we have this Yo-SD Kimono yukata. Model is Mili (Soom Picro), newest addition in the doll family. This pattern was originally drawn back in 2013. I managed to find it and try out it again. There was one Yo-SD kimono yukata completed all those years ago, this is the second one. I rather like the colors of it. Take a further look on Etsy. The set consists of the kimono yukata, obi, kimono fabric ribbon and the headpiece.

Finally, this will be mentioned in next month’s additions on Etsy but since I am posting this blog update almost in October, I am adding this here.

As I was working on one of the commissions I also wanted to try out this fabric. So this outfit was produced as a side quest. It consists of two pieces, a top and a pair of bloomers. Just now added the outfit on Etsy. It is in Dust of Dolls size.

So I think that is almost everything I needed to catch up on. For those who might be waiting to see the sale post I mentioned last time. I am still working on it. In the meantime please check my DoA sale threads (ID Tsuki) and my Instagram account (tsukifly) for sale pictures. I haven’t forgotten, I just have lots of stuff to go through.

Thanks for reading!

Marching towards summer

Last month was a productive month for me. WAIT? Which month? I have noted that I missed completely last month’s update even though I had written it ready… Better late than never, mmm? 😀

Often times I have too many ideas and too little time to get things done. Perhaps the increased light outside also has something to do with the productivity? Today is cloudy / rain but I don’t think that will keep me inside.

I want to start the day by doing this massive update so that it will be done. And then it will also serve as a recap for myself.

First I will remind you of the Lillycat Pastel deer dress setil_fullxfull.1479237711_mursSAMSUNG CSCThose pastel colors together with the deep red deer headpiece are lovely. The deer pendant in front crowns the whole dress. For me anyway. Being a deer fan myself. Not to mention I love adding details ~

March also saw an addition to Tsukifly pattern section. A PDF pattern for a simple above knee-length Unoa/Slim mini/MNF skirt. This pattern took hours longer than the Pullip/Blythe skirt because it has more shapes to make it fit around the waist. I am pleased on the outcome though. Check the pattern from here.

il_fullxfull.1463739307_oeqp

Then I completed a white fleece winter coat for Tiny/Yo-SD. It has been in my project box since winter holidays… Took three months to get it finished. Lack of time?  It is made out of white soft fleece, has white pearl and bowtie details around the hem and minty ribbon to close it in front. I chose to leave the inside lining because this would have been too much for the whole. Its a little big for Mina (our model in this pic). So better fit for e.g. Soom Tinies.

Another Yo-SD/Tiny sized piece for Etsy was Color Bits tulle dream dress. Part of Vintage line as the top part of the dress is made out of hand crafted vintage lace / cotton fabric. Its very sturdy and has little details out of different laces, pearls and ribbons. Skirt part is made out of fluffy white tulle with strands of little color bits. Ribbons to attach the dress from the backside.

The last thing for March (I think) was to complete Winter Colors knitted scarf & hat set. It is modelled by Rein, my Dollfie Dream Saber, whose head is 8-9 inch. Thus the set will fit SAMSUNG CSCdolls with that head size. E.g. Lillycat Ellana and bigger girls like Soom girls.

Now I think we are in for the April updates. Before that I want to say: Thank you for all of you who have commissioned me! I have been so happy to take on those little challenges❤

I cannot say my productivity has in anyway diminished during April. I had a pleasure to travel a bit after two years of break in between (unintentional) at the end of March and at the beginning of April. From those travels I have derived new ideas as well.

Previously I have been asked to try out making a travel pouch. So I made one. With a candy (sweet & delicious) design 🍬

Etsy currently has two tiny / yo-SD / pureneemo pouches ready made. Other sizes can be made to order. One such was one in MNF / Unoa size and another in Pullip size.  Each pouch is made of thicker outer fabric and softer inside fabric. Each end has colorful ribbons to tie the pouch and in between there are velcro pieces to close the pouch. A separate head protector is recommended to be used when your doll is travelling inside the pouch 🙂 I made one extra for Riri (Pureneemo Aika) to use as she had none of her own previously.

SAMSUNG CSC

I also completed three animal headbands for Tiny / Yo-SD / Unoa heads. Here the model is Yuiko, the newest addition to my doll family. I will write a longer description of her character a bit later. There are two more bunny headdresses with fleece bottoms waiting to be finished. I will add those into the listing as I get them done 🙂

il_570xN.1496634299_l076

A new summer straw hat was completed. Fits for Pureneemo and Soom minigems. These are rather rare as I hardly ever find suitable straw hat bases to work with. Everytime I do, its fun. Riri also shows a little teaser for a pureneemo dress coming next month (its one of three in that size). They also fit for Blythe and Pullip.

The same dress from two angles? In a way yes. You see Yuiko and Lunette (This Souldoll cutie is currently also looking for a new home) modelling the newest addition to Etsy, the Baby Pink dress set. It is a pink Paris themed dress with a cute head bowtie. Lower layer made of tulle, decorated with bows and ribbons this dress is something your cute pink loving unoa / slim mini / MNF girl would love to have.

There is also a previously completed Walolita style outfit for Pureneemos and Pullips. You may remember seeing some teaser of the upper part of this dress set in Instagram.

il_570xN.1496598171_d0du.jpgNow the dress set is also on Etsy. The dress set comes with a head bowtie, upper shirt and separate high waist skirt and decorated Japanese ribbon as obi.

I really like this design. I had a pleasure to complete few commission of this design as well. Perhaps I should consider making one for Yuiko or perhaps Freya?

I will save a bit of stuff for the next month. I also completed another Unoa / MNF Dress of which there is a teaser in Instagram. However, it is taking me a bit longer to post it up. And while it takes a bit I conclude this post is quire full of pics already. The next one might end up looking rather empty after such a “spam”. I hope not though ^^;

More updates next month

December recap

Or can I call this a recap while this December is only half way through?

It has been a productive month. There are changes in my personal life so there has been some extra time to use for sewing projects. So happy about that fact. I also feel that while it has been somewhat quiet for quite a while when I speak about dolly plans I have also lots going on there. Plans, story updates, style updates. Dolly hobby is periodic at present.

Not too many flattering pictures of Unoa Elder girls in Google picture search. Apparently enough to hook me though. Not that Google was ever the sole place to look for dolly pictures. I have had this little plan of Ange for quite a while now. And my wishes had been heard! Now I have one on layaway. Her name will be Yuiko (thoughtful child) and she is an apprentice witch. Initial plan is to make her something colorful yet dark while her wig will be pastel cute. However, it would not be the first time when a doll turns into something completely different once she arrives so I cannot say for sure. Let’s wait and see. She is scheduled to come around in Spring ~

Then Tsukifly updates.

Starting with two Vintage cardigans in SD and DD sizes, made out of lovely vintage knitted fabric with vintage lace details. I am pleased with the outcome and they are a great addition with any Tsukifly dress as well.

Tsukifly Vintage White Cardigands

Second in line is a one-piece vintage time keeper dress for SD.  I have had “raw” sketch of this dress on a mannequin for ages. It really has taken way too long to complete but I amSAMSUNG CSC pleased how it turned out. A combo of embroidered off-white lace, light blue taffeta, brown polka dot fabric and vintage laces and bow ties. A clock necklace will be included with the dress.

Last but not least on the list are probably my personal favorites of the month. Diamond deer flower headbands. This patch on Etsy includes 2 tiny/slim mini sized, 2 MSD/Lillycat sized and 1 bigger Pullip / SD / Blythe sized headdresses. They are so cute and delicate. I just need more paper flowers for any future plans, these ate my last ones on storage.

*Update* Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

I felt the candy set didn’t quite match with Akiko so I completed a better suited outfit set to go with her. With fully and lively Japanese themed dress and accessories she would be an an unique addition to any Pullip family. Find the updated listing here.

So to recap, a lot of new updates, additions and great fun in making all of these. Thank you everyone for your continuing support!

I must also make a small note on one of my lovely buyers who was kind enough to send me a picture of her doll wearing a Tsukifly coat bought through Etsy shop. The styling in the picture was wintery and receiving it really made my day. Thank you!

I believe that is almost everything for now. Next wee I will travel towards North for Christmas and I have pretty strong feeling no new blog entries will be made for this year. Please do keep an eye on Instagram as I am more likely to update few Christmas theme pictures around there ~

Herbs and summer

Hiya!

Back here again. Lately I have been busy with my studies so little has been left for anything else. But! No worries. I am advancing towards the end of an intensive lecture week in two cities. Still few days to go~

My guess is that it isn’t my studies you wish to read about. So into dolly related things.

SAMSUNG CSC

Those of you who have taken a look at Flickr have seen “the portrait” picture of (most) of my bjd girls. I cannot even remember when I have taken the previous one. Probably something like 7 years ago?! The fact that my girls haven’t been in the same place after year 2010 may have had something to do with the fact. Instead, scattered around the country… Then why could I not do this one properly? Because Mina (Aileendoll Camellia) and Hisa (Volks Lorina) both share a body with someone else. I didn’t include heads for this portrait but I consider doing another one sometime later to include them too.

Coming – Tsukifly:

There are two Pullip / Blythe sized summer dresses to be finished on my table for Etsy. I suspect to complete them by the end of the week after which they will appear on Etsy along with some updated pictures.

  • One is a more colorful dress set with white under dress and an upper part, certain similarities to Chai Latte’s dress, with different colors and fabrics etc. in my attempt to use small fabric pieces found from my closet.
  • The other one is a turquoise summer dress with tulle and lace details and a bunny headdress.

Both dress sets are more detailed than any of the previous Pullip / Blythe dresses have been. I have used time to make them unique. Great additions to any wardrobe.

Mella had a haircut. This was a moment before the “action”. Her hair is now shorter with bangs. A picture is on intagram and more will be coming later. Mella wants to show off something as she got a little package. Here she is also wearing an Alice in Wonderland patterned dress for which I was sewing buttons for.

Summer with style updates

For an unknown reason I am having a style crisis over my girls. It seems to be a trend now. It happens every now and then. Few of them are missing that something, be that the right wig, eyes, clothing or something else. I am trying to figure out something new for each of them but it is not that easy. Especially when you don’t quite know what you would like them to have. If only there would be a possibility to test a box of wigs or eyes etc. to better get the idea. With my limited supply, nope. All I can do is to draw my ideas on paper or otherwise visualize.

For the summer I have gone through my dolly closet so I am going to post a separate album on Flickr for the sale stuffs. I have also considered a blog post with the details so will see which I consider a better option in the end. There will be those other things not suitable for my girls’ style or those I have leftovers in wrong sizes as I am going to make some style changes for them.

SAMSUNG CSCLunetta got a white dress. Together the dress and a separate lace skirt form a bell shaped dress combo. She could wear more striking stockings, go with white white lace stockings for more bridal look or choose black as she has chosen to do. Endless possibilities when the dress in itself is not too outstanding.

Those hand cuffs pictured with the dress are among new additions to Etsy. With them I have added a collection of total of 20 necklaces done over the years. There has not been proper pictures taken of them until now so I am pleased I finally got that done. Certain special design will be posted in separate listings later on. Have a closer look on the jewellery collection here.

Freya's Summer Dress set

Summer dress set design for Lillycat: One-piece dress, bolero, lace stockings.

 Freya’s summer dress set

I don’t think I have taken any proper picture of Freya’s summer dress set. So finally here it is. I have reused one of the short corsets previously completed, added the skirt part for it and she already had the accessories and lace stockings.

Freya and Lunetta were the first ones to get their styles updated. While Freya is pretty much completed, Lunetta is still missing eyes / wig side of the whole. In progress.

Some of you may know I have made quite a stock of flower head bands as well. With different details and sizes. The same situation as with jewellery was that there has not been any completed collection pictures of the designs. Along with jewellery I ended up doing that update as well. Although those pictures are still in progress – a lot of them to process through – few updated pictures here.

They tolerate gentle bending and there will be sizes from tiny all the way to SD/Pullip/Blythe available through Etsy. Keep checking back there. Previously there were only few SD sized designs pictured. Thus, a bigger selection for the coming summer.

While going through the stock I also came across this cotton candy / cute style skirt set available on Etsy. I thought having a picture on the mannequin might help to show off the skirt. If only I had a girl with such a style I would like to keep this myself!

Tsukifly Cotton Candy Skirt Set -SD/SD13

Soom Juchy – Pumpkin Sprite

Meet the newest member of the crew.

Her name is Junia. Soom Juchy. A little sprite and a guardian of a fountain situated deep within an ancient forest. She rarely has contact with anyone which makes it all the more fascinating once she does encounter someone.

She is a tiny little fairy and Soom mini gem size. Height according to Soom is 31.5cm. I find it is rather hard to compare her with any of my other girls. Mina (Aileendoll Camellia) as a tiny is not as tall and is also considerably more sturdy while both of my MSD girls Tori and Lunetta (Dollmore Torrie and Souldoll Aehael) are taller and sturdier as well. Differently proportioned. This little girl is slim like a barbie doll, light in weight and with lovely light violet skin color. Such a delicate whole, fragile with all the details.

Previously I haven’t had a doll with wig size 4 inches and therefore had to order her with the default wig so I could at least have something for her. So tiny! Not quite sure the blond is her thing but finding alternatives has proven rather a challenging task. An odd size. I am somewhat close to considering an option of trying to make her a mohair or an alpaca wig of my own…

A great info page on DoA will get me started. Additionally I need to go through some barbie clothes. There might be something she can make use of. For now she is wearing a white lace dress I made for her so she has at least something to wear for the time being.

Soom apparently recommends eye size 6mm for her but I don’t have anything so small around @_@ So she is wearing DD-Anne’s Garden blue acrylic 8mm eyes I had stored away. I will try two other 8mm pairs for her as well. Hazel and metal blue/purple as they are. Then make a choice among those. For the time being at least :p

Her lovely transparent fairy parts sit in a box for the time being. I am trying to decide on the color and blushing style for them. Something dark or maybe pastel colors?
