Azone Pureneemos

I kind of decided previously I would not fall for these cuties. But guess what? They are too adorable to avoid and I have had hard time resisting… I still persist but for how long?

My best “excuse” for not to get one has been the fact that Mella, my tanned Blythe girl, has a pureneemo body. Thus, I wouldn’t need one for sewing. However, Mella is tricky to pose for the model pictures and has her own style as to what kind of clothing she inspires me to sew. So the excuse is falling apart as reasons to get a pureneemo of my own are starting to fill in on the list.

After Saturday’s mini meet-up with some amazingly cute Sahra cat versions (pastel pink and blue) I may have wandered off to those “off-limits” sites of which I was specifically warned about. Don’t you easily go for what has explicitly been prohibited? Yesss…

memWhat models?

My Top 3 list at the moment includes Himeno, Alisa and Mia. The first two have such a smiling face that you instantly feel happy to look at them. Mia on the other hand looks more serene. Different models have different expressions and there are varieties even within the model according the special versions. Eye colors, eye shape, hair… So many choices to make!

Snow Queen Mia, Wizard of Oz Himeno and Marron Parfait Alisa are the models I really like. However, it seems I have already lost my chances to get them. Have to check the stock if I get any decisions out before they sell out the last of those.

As you see I have gone through quite a lot of pictures. They do not make my decision any easier. On the contrary. My starting point being, if I get one, I get one. Thus this very throughout consideration…

On the pages of a magazine

SAMSUNG CSCIts lovely how the sunshine seems to wake you up from the long slumber of the dark winter. It feels like you can do so much more with the light around. It is different to take photos with natural light than to try to figure out how to make it work with artificial means.

I wanted to change the outlook of the blog and now that it is done I see I am in dire need of new pictures. Both for Tsukifly purposes but also for the fun of it. So I made it my (yet) another project to take some new picture material.

Above you see Tsukifly clothes on Lunetta (Souldoll Aehael) in magazine style. This is why one of the Etsy sections is called Mix & Match because generally all the pieces go rather well together. So this is one example of that. In the picture there are four Tsukifly pieces pictured: Little Miss Polka dot dress, A pair of white legwarmers, An MSD Duffle coat and knitted wool hat. As for the duffle coat I am still finishing info, pictures and other details. A glimpse of that nicely with other items.

I was also pleased to receive a review and feedback regarding Tsukifly items. Thank you ~

On-going projects

If I thought there were many on-going / unfinished projects around before, now there is even more. And if we count in the photoshoot plans etc. not sewing related but otherwise dolly related projects we have even more outstanding number. Challenges for me but nothing I cannot cope with in due course. One by one whistling as you go by.

As I was travelling around last week I couldn’t get the pictures of the new headdress up on Etsy or here. However, here it is. With somewhat similar design as those odd cat headdresses (still coming – teaser on Instagram) and those bunny headdresses already on Etsy. I am yet to decide is this animal or just fluffy or what. Cute in any case and on Etsy. Vanamo (Volks Kurumi) as my model. Her head is one of those “famous” Volks heads, 9-10inch, so the headdress will also go nicely for Pullips and Blythes. Colors used: white (tassels), creamy (headdress), ribbons (black).

Pullip related commission set and a white bunny hat

I finished a commission outfit for Pullip. This nurse outfit + hat were made according to a reference with with certain alterations due to size, fabric and my own visions. I am glad to see it turned out well although I had certain worries as to the sturdiness of the fabric.SAM_4672

Another commission was a soft white bunny hat with a removable bow tie. The hat has one snap fastener to allow it to be fastened under doll’s chin. The red bow tie is removable with a small safety pin to secure it.

Unrelated to dolls is my own project to make a bed cover for my own bed. I wanted something calm and white so I ended up going fabric shopping to see my options. I concluded it would cost around the same if not less to make it myself versus to buy one. So the benefits with uniqueness and the fun of making it/selecting the fabrics sealed my choice. I went for the fabrics – the core of the cover (my fabric choices on Instagram) and the other fabric. Possibly a third quilt fabric for the other side to make it more thick. Now I need to attach the other fabric on the hem of the other, to line the whole thing around. The estimated project size is around 150cm x 240cm.

At the same time two very fluffy animal hats (Lillycat 8-9inch size) and a commission white bunny hat are waiting for inside linings.

With regard to some props. For one, I finally managed to get my doll sized couch around. Additionally I found some other props which I will have to see if they are for my use or if I should offer them for sale as some of the projects I originally got them for aren’t around or relevant anymore. I shall see to that over the coming weekend.

And please check Instagram for occasional project related pictures 🙂

Chai Latte time

Meet the newest Tsukifly custom Pullip – Chai Latte~!SAM_4799

In mocha skin color she is my most peculiar creation so far. Her eyebrows are shaped like thin tree branches (in black), eyelashes have feathers and her eyes have black heart pupils.

Her Leekeworld Royal Gray wig creates a contrast against her dark face-up and skin. Tsukifly dress set included with her has four pieces: a black choker and is otherwise in light tones with a  light beige petticoat, a white lace top and an upper skirt with its waist details made out of Japanese kimono fabric. A more detailed dress where the upper skirt is attached like a corset – ribbon going through tiny lace holes.

Find her from Etsy.

Also, those tulle & lace skirts I mentioned in my last post are up on Etsy. They fit for Lillycat, MSD and Unoa/MNF sizes and there are three skirts available for now. Please find them here.

Additionally there are some headdresses I am finished with along with those I have mentioned previously. Thank you for your support so far!

March: Sweet Lolita & Cutiness

Updates now and other plans for the coming month.

I found one of my lace stashes and got inspired to use some of those for the new creations. As I also have a strong intention to use the fabrics from my box, those that I have accumulated over the years, the new pieces are from now on are likely to be both colorful as well as combinations of many great fabrics.

Sweet Lolita Mix & Match skirts – Lillycat & MSD sizes

Are you ready for some light blue sweet lolita skirts? These perfect Tsukifly Mix & Match pieces are one of a kind (OOAK) creations with slightly different details, available in Lillycat and MSD size.

Lillycat Sweet Lolita skirt has a high waist part and three rows of ribbons on the back side. It can be worn on top or under a shirt/corset. Small bow ties are positioned randomly  on the skirt and hem decorated with two different laces. Made out of sturdy light blue taffeta the skirt maintains its shape and can be worn with or without a separate tulle skirt.

MSD sized sweet lolita skirt has a polka dot brown/mint fabric for the waist and sturdy light blue taffeta for the skirt part. This skirt fastens with snap fasteners at the back and can be worn similarly on or under a shirt/top. Hem is lined with minty lace and ribbon bow ties are similarly randomly sewn over the skirt part.

Tulle & Lace skirts – Various sizes

Because girls can never have enough skirts and because those skirts that can be used with many different outfits are great multipurpose pieces I decided to turn some of the tulle and lace fabrics into skirts as I found some excess tulle from the box. More sturdy and some soft. Different colors. Enough lace for a skirt is more of a rarity, thus I anticipate that there will not be too many of those to come.

There will be a soft beige tulle skirt, a mint lace skirt and a pink sturdy tulle skirt available through Etsy soon. Working on the listings as we speak. All those may be used as a petticoat or on their own. All have an elastic waist band and therefore they fit for various sized dolls. Each of the skirts also comes with a small bow tie detail.

So things coming up – keep checking Etsy, blog and Instagram ~

Doll dreams and updates

I will share one of my long-term doll dreams.

Ever since I sold my tanned Supia Rosy girl (so lovely tan skin colour!) I have been pondering over the thought of getting a tanned girl at some point. Since I seem to maintain my ‘all girl’ group in which no boy is or has been able to penetrate, this tanned one should be a girl as well. My choice to be my tanned beauty? Read further ~

It is very likely that I would like to go for Peak’s Woods as they have always been among my favourite doll companies. I love their gorgeous face-ups, lovely models and styling. However, I haven’t got a chance (for one reason or the other) to order just yet, perhaps next time. But I have pretty much finally settled on a target.

Previously a very strong candidate was a Tanned Goldie. However, ever since the release of Tristan… Fairies of Colors (FOC) Tristan in tanned skin color (!) I have missed my chances twice now, perhaps the third one will be the one?

First was FOC LE Elf Tristan who would have been absolutely gorgeous to own. I am also a fan of dolls with elf ears (or other type of fancy ears) and currently half of my crew has some type of fantasy ears. While I loved the ears and the skin color I had certain doubts on the half closed eyes. Previously I haven’t fired well with them, I don’t seem to get contact…

Another time I missed her was FOC Tristan the Beauty_Beauty and the Beast in Valentine Punk . The whole set would have been wonderful and I liked the face-up as well. But the timing was off for me, so much so I couldn’t make it happen. So either I will try to look for her from second hand market (has proven quite impossible!) or Peak’s Woods will release her again at some point.

Peak’s Woods’ Urban Brown skin color ~!

She has a steampunk style character, part of the same story as my Lillycat Ellana, Freya. A curious combo I should say, but might they would be interesting together ~ In writing their visual appearances aren’t described in any conclusive way so they have quite a lot of leeway as to their doll forms.

Tsukifly Orange/Brown/Blue Patterned Stockings in MSD/MNF/Unoa size

An in progress picture of these was already posted in Instagram. I decided to post the MSD size on Etsy first as the Lillycat design still needs some further work. Personally I like the pattern on the  fabric. These stockings will certainly bring some spark into any outfit.

Another sewing weekend

It seems I pile up the inspiration and the implementation of the ideas for these weekends. During the week you either don’t have the energy or you don’t have the time. More than once I wonder how great it would be if there were more hours in a day…

I have been doing quite a many projects simultaneously and its satisfying to see them coming together one by one. Of course, while they are in progress my working table looks pretty much like it will drown in disarray.

Pullip Dress set commission – In Progress

This is what I have been working on for the most part. A Pullip dress set commission. The set will consist of a hat and a dress with certain tiny details. While I have maintained some of the artistic freedom in putting it all together it resembles the design for which it is based on. I have also made another kind of closure solution for the whole dress. I am a fan of the hat too. Perhaps I shall try something colourful in similar design in BJD size later on? Pictures will follow at later stage ~

Pillow covers for anyone?

An idea of making decorative pillow covers available on Etsy has crossed my mind previously on few occasions. I have had this rather a good sized pillow cover completed for a while already. Now I finally got around to finish it. I probably went through several closing possibilities from simple ribbons to huge decorative buttons etc. A plain zipper was one too. Which option won? I will keep you in suspense for a while longer.

Face-up time

In winter time I usually don’t make too many face-ups because of the light and weather difficulties in this Northern country. However, some occasional exceptions may occur and this appears to be one of those.

When you have the inspiration you should make the most of it. So the Fairyland MNF 2014 Halloween head I have had rolling around my closet for a good while now got a face-up. Theme was wintary with snowflakes and tiny decorative details over her other eye. There are also some black spirals on the other side of her head but I realized this picture does not show them… Fortunately there are other shots to complement. As nobody seemed to be willing to adopt the little one with her blank face I hope she will have better chances now. Take a look at Den of Angels.
