December recap

Or can I call this a recap while this December is only half way through?

It has been a productive month. There are changes in my personal life so there has been some extra time to use for sewing projects. So happy about that fact. I also feel that while it has been somewhat quiet for quite a while when I speak about dolly plans I have also lots going on there. Plans, story updates, style updates. Dolly hobby is periodic at present.

Not too many flattering pictures of Unoa Elder girls in Google picture search. Apparently enough to hook me though. Not that Google was ever the sole place to look for dolly pictures. I have had this little plan of Ange for quite a while now. And my wishes had been heard! Now I have one on layaway. Her name will be Yuiko (thoughtful child) and she is an apprentice witch. Initial plan is to make her something colorful yet dark while her wig will be pastel cute. However, it would not be the first time when a doll turns into something completely different once she arrives so I cannot say for sure. Let’s wait and see. She is scheduled to come around in Spring ~

Then Tsukifly updates.

Starting with two Vintage cardigans in SD and DD sizes, made out of lovely vintage knitted fabric with vintage lace details. I am pleased with the outcome and they are a great addition with any Tsukifly dress as well.

Tsukifly Vintage White Cardigands

Second in line is a one-piece vintage time keeper dress for SD.  I have had “raw” sketch of this dress on a mannequin for ages. It really has taken way too long to complete but I amSAMSUNG CSC pleased how it turned out. A combo of embroidered off-white lace, light blue taffeta, brown polka dot fabric and vintage laces and bow ties. A clock necklace will be included with the dress.

Last but not least on the list are probably my personal favorites of the month. Diamond deer flower headbands. This patch on Etsy includes 2 tiny/slim mini sized, 2 MSD/Lillycat sized and 1 bigger Pullip / SD / Blythe sized headdresses. They are so cute and delicate. I just need more paper flowers for any future plans, these ate my last ones on storage.

*Update* Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

I felt the candy set didn’t quite match with Akiko so I completed a better suited outfit set to go with her. With fully and lively Japanese themed dress and accessories she would be an an unique addition to any Pullip family. Find the updated listing here.

So to recap, a lot of new updates, additions and great fun in making all of these. Thank you everyone for your continuing support!

I must also make a small note on one of my lovely buyers who was kind enough to send me a picture of her doll wearing a Tsukifly coat bought through Etsy shop. The styling in the picture was wintery and receiving it really made my day. Thank you!

I believe that is almost everything for now. Next wee I will travel towards North for Christmas and I have pretty strong feeling no new blog entries will be made for this year. Please do keep an eye on Instagram as I am more likely to update few Christmas theme pictures around there ~

November greetings

I wonder how I have managed to forget how fun it is to make photoshoot set-ups, take photos of my dear dolls and see how the pictures turn out (especially nice if the photos turn out nicely, although not always the case ^^;)

In any case I think I have rediscovered the joy of that aspect of the doll hobby. The only things I am lacking is generally the time and as the winter is knocking on the door, the natural light. So I need to adjust to the yellow and warm light emitted by the the various lamps scattered around my little personal nest.

During the weekend I took a “proper” photoshoot (which I haven’t done for a very long time) and the reason was to get some pictures of the Vintage Bunny set, now available on Etsy. However, few pictures really surprised me, including the fact that Tori fits in well with those vintage pieces (grandma’s old lamp, tiny picture frame and an old decorative pillow). Nothing particularly specially in the pictures but I just felt so happy. So much so I just want to mention it here as well.

SAM_7484

One of the photoshoot pictures (few more on Flickr). The set includes four pieces (vintage corset, bloomers, bunny headdress and black lace stockings) with an option to include that cute fluffy Bukowski bear (an angel bear!) with the set.

I have also made a mess of my table yet again. I have finished a new custom Pullip. She got orange eyes with star pupils and clear glass domes. Super cute with Leekeworld carrot wig and mocha skin color. Pretty pleased with the face-up too. Only thing left is to finish her dress, working on it now although somehow slow progress. Or I just feel so as I do many things at the same time (multitasking o_o)? (read more below).

There is also this Tsukifly Autumn knitted scarf. I completed it over the last weekend, just got around to take the pictures. The model is my Aya (Luts Soo Dark Elf) and I just love how she looks in these winter garments. She is also wearing a Tsukifly cat hat. Ready for a winter outing? Can I make the snow fall from the sky for this picture?

Outline of the month:

  • Vintage Bunny MSD set – ok
  • Knitted scarf – ok
  • Pullip custom full set Akiko – mocha skin – ok

So I am pretty happy of the outcome.  And I won’t even start on those sd dresses I am working on…

Tsukifly Custom Pullip Akiko

Continuing from above. She is now completed, finally. Named as Akiko, autumn’s child to reflect the time but also her colors. Cute and delicious combination goes well with her mocha skin although I must say I am not too happy with the light in the listing pictures. If the weather is already gloomy outside, the available light is even less than the usual. I need to figure out some solution for that.

Nevertheless, she is precious little girl up for adoption. Her OOAK dress consists of three pieces, headpiece (pink bow ties on top of each others), upper part and a frosted skirt part. I kinda feel the dress could be edible, candy colors – pink & white. She will come with a glass jar, where there are small red stones (look like candies?). These stones have holes in the middle so they are also suitable for grafting should you wish to use them.

I hope you like the new Etsy updates and thank you for the support for Tsukifly!

Halloween mummies?

HAPPY HORRIBLE HALLOWEEN for Everyone!

SAMSUNG CSC

What happened with new designs and a bjd Halloween outfit? It is likely my plans will not be made in time this year either. Maybe if I start early next year I will make it in time? I wonder how everything seems to pile up just when you are suppose to make something for some specific time…

Lately I have been able to work on my sewing projects only during weekends. Due to other pressing matters and studies/exams also the time during those weekends has been less than usual. The result is as you see.

But! I have had a wonderful time completing a clothing custom outfit in Pullip size. Many of the patterns needed special consideration, the small size being a challenge. Now the whole outfit has been finished and shipped off. Especially the front of the winter jacket was to my liking. Functional although it did require some concessions from the original design. Conclusion: I enjoyed this particular commission very much!

As you see I have an unusual Halloween mascot for this blog post. A mummy? And very unhalloweenlike set-up… Its too white. And where are all the dark, scary and shady stuff? Witches, broomsticks and bats. Black cats with piercing yellow eyes!

Last week I was pleasently surprised by a package sent by my dear from all the way from Asia. Thank you so much dear! This little one (still without a name), apparently my first Pureneemo (=^^=!), was found from the inside along with all the other amazing things including snacks, tea and refills for my pens<3~

I am planning a photoshoot with the new girl and Mella. Although I do admit that she would need a name and something proper to wear (roll bandage) is hardly a proper outfit…

I did a comparison of different 3:15PM milk tea flavors sometime before (check the previous post) and now I have few new flavors to add. Found from this amazing package

I received! This 3:15PM restock included these three flavors:

pala

Milk Tea Table – a comparison table

Okinawa Brown Sugar Milk Tea (3:15 PM) – Distinct flavor. Strong caramel like odour / flavor, suppose its a result from the brown sugar? No idea whether hibiscus flowers are just for the show…

Fruity Rose Flavor Milk Tea (3:15 PM) – Most flower like flavor. Sweet but not too much. And I must say this is my favorite out of all 3:15PM milk teas I have tasted so far~

Sun Moon Lake Milk Tea (3:15 PM) – Sweetest flavor of these three. Flowerlike taste. Reminds me of the 3:15 PM Rose flavor (above) still a bit more sweeter.

It is soon time for my montly update so I will leave info regarding Etsy updates into that post. Keep your eyes open for it! Coming up soon~

Spectrum of colors

Lovely autumn colors are finally here! I have wishes to go and collect some nice leaves for craft things during the coming weekend. For those of you who have checked Instagram you may have seen few captions from Finnish forest from the previous weekend. I was hunting mushrooms for a pie which I must say turned out so good (my first time!) that there was hardly a piece left on the next morning.

Junia, my little forest sprite, the guardian of a hidden forest fall, finally got

SAMSUNG CSCa new dress for herself. This was rather to test a new pattern than to have a specific idea but I like the outcome. Since the first dress was off-white lace dress I wanted something darker with few details. The lovely fabric has been previously brought from China by my dear friend. There are still few pieces left to make lovely little things. =^^=

Overall I like the mini gem/faery size from Soom. Delicate, tiny and beautiful. Otherwise quite a tricky one to find clothing / wigs / eyes for though!

Moreover, I am happy to start off a commission work during the weekend. This relates to an animation I am myself a fan of so I suppose it will spark my inspiration for the whole process. Completing this commission will be my priority for the next few weeks.

Halloween is coming too. It is one of my favorite seasonal celebrations but despite this fact I have been unable to complete anything suitable to the theme during these last two years. This year, provided I have enough time I plan to complete a set for Pullips / Pureneemos just in time for Halloween. Looking forward to it even myself!

So as the seasons turn towards the coming winter I notice my time to be somewhat limited. I must confess I haven’t been able to keep up with one post per week so my next statement and objective is to post at least one post per month. Therefore there may be more or there might not be more but at least this one per month. I have been satisfied with the regular monthly schedule so sticking with it as a basis seems like a good idea.

Lune has found her style, more or less, and seems to hang out around my many books.

Autumn winds in September

After seeing all those nice pictures from Tracon weekend I have some regrets I couldn’t make it there. Perhaps next time.

Before outlining what’s new  I am flashing the possibility that I may be giving up on tiny size. I just can’t seem to get it work. Mina is lovely and cute but in the end I think it is the size. Funnily enough I seem to be interested by MSD size more and more. There are few MSD girls I am eyeing for (future plans perhaps?) Unoa, Fairyland and Volks are on my mind at the moment.

I better pray I don’t come up with any nice stories / characters / names for any new girls. If I do the game is usually already lost… So let’s change the topic!

New things for Tsukifly Etsy for September

I am finishing off three pairs of berry colored stockings for MSD size. This time they are lovely rich one color stockings without any pattern. Finished with lace and bow tie details. In addition there are is a pair of black lace stockings with green bow ties and one pair of those patterned stockings completed earlier. Explore here to see them more closely. All these designs are available also in Pullip/Blythe size (upon request for now).

My visiting mascot, Idaheika’s little Sheng assisted me with sewing (although I bet he

wouldn’t like to hear me call him little…) and is featuring the available colors / fabrics.

Midnight MSD dress shall be added to Etsy soon as well.  Sparkling with lace details, perfect for any party your doll is thinking to attend. However, more about that later.

Tsukifly Dresstime

A new week has started. September is almost here. It feels weird to consider that practically it is autumn already. I don’t think Finland really saw so much of the summer. If you do not count those few exceptions. It has been constant rain / sun combo around Helsinki at least. My cornflowers have gone wild.

Last week we had a fun meet-up at downtown Helsinki with amazing people and their dolls, bjds and pureneemos. My combo of few of my favourite pictures. Once again thank you everybody: Dark, Fyrd8th, Safir, Sarqq and Tiinyan.

Over the weekend I had a massive cleaning operation. I have long felt that my “hobby closet” as I call it has become a one big mess. One from which you don’t find anything anymore. I love all kinds of tins and cute boxes so there are plenty of those with which I try to keep the order. However, stuff keep coming in and obviously more comes in than I have time to use. So I took everything out, sorted them again, threw something away. Well, you know how it goes. And my table was an even bigger mess for two whole days. Now I am almost satisfied, for the time being.

SAMSUNG CSCWhile on summer holiday I had a pleasure to bring this little fellow back home with me for a visit. Sheng is Neo Angelregion’s Gato. A mischievous little thing, I mean, a cat, whose dream is to conquer the world (read: total world domination, no less). You got to dream big, right? And since when did the size have any role in the matter?

I was going over the sale things and this great little bed seemed to please Sheng quite a bit. He is not going to have it tho. But for this once he did have a test run. Magnificent cats do not have fleas either. So whoever will be the new owner of this 25cm cosy bed is sure to have a clean bed to sleep in.

While doing this massive cleaning operation I also completed two of those -in progress- dresses I came across. First is the dress for Dollfie Dream (DD). It is made to fit DDS, so sister body although will fit the regular dd body as well. Well fitted this time although pattern needs some adjustments which I came across while making the dress. Overall I am very happy with the completed dress though. It has been listed on Etsy.

Another one was a light dreamy colored Yo-SD/tiny size dress. I suppose you could call it a babydoll nightie. It is quite puffy from the waist area because of those three layers of tulle and lace. Kinda reminds me of those historical gowns. The upper part of the nightie is vintage lace and the dress is mostly hand-sewn with pink ribbon details. In addition I wanted two lace bowties on each side of the dress. Details ~  Also found from Etsy now.

Those two dresses are the last additions for this month. We shall see what the next month will bring into the shop~

Cornflowers and plywood

Hello everyone =^^=!

I somehow feel I am kind of repeating myself by saying there are lots of unfinished projects on the table, this and that needs to be done etc. I shall still go through by introducing new updates / products but also I shall increase doll photos while I still have natural light before the dark that is lurking as the winter is approaching (the natural phenomenon here in Finland every year).

Etsy Updates – Tsukifly

Let’s start with the updates. I have been hinting about this basket before and finally got around to take the pictures, to measure and finish the text for it. So it is now available in Etsy. I had some lovely cornflowers growing in my little herb box and some of them were now used for the photos.

The basket is suitable for both MSD and SD sized dolls but I would still say perhaps better in scale for SDs. Vanamo (Volks Kurumi) and Lunetta (Souldoll Aehael) as my models here.

Another thing is this tiny summer straw hat. Cornflowers got in these pictures too. After all its rarely you get to use lovely flowers in the pictures. This straw hat is small, for 4-5 inch heads such as Soom faeries (my minigem Juchy, Junia as a model) and Lillycat Chibbi as well as Pureneemos (tested). The hat is loose for the head so there are generally some room for different poses. The hat can be found from here.

Thoughts about Vanamo (Volks Kurumi)

I feel Vanamo is doing well with her white wig and those eyes with seashell details. Still SAMSUNG CSCcan’t quite believe how that face-up turned out so well straight out. Vanamo happens to be the only one of my girls with a face-up made by myself. So I suppose I am proud of the outcome. Her story is still a bit of a mystery, she was sort of an unplanned purchase ^^;

Originally I just wanted her to be the one girl who could pull off an overly cute pink style, sweet lolita etc.

I am plotting a story which would bring depth into her character. Different from my girls she is part of the “real” world instead of the fantasy worlds. You might think it would be easy to come up with the character when the playground is kind of the world you live in yourself… Not quite.

More about this project as I progress with her ~
